The Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy is a pioneer and a driver of bioeconomy research. Process Technician (m/f/d)

This project aims to use lignocellulosic raw materials and residues for the fermentative production of organic acids. Suitable microorganisms need to be selected and tested in order to achieve improved substrate utilization and higher efficiency of the entire bioprocess following various pre-treatment and hydrolysis methods.

Your responsibilities
 Preparation and execution of fermentation experiments under laboratory and pilot plant conditions
 Collecting a wide range of chemical, physical and biological experimental data using established measurement technologies
 Data evaluation using various software such as spreadsheets and statistical software
 Documentation of the experimental design, implementation and evaluation in accordance with good scientific practice
 Participation in the operation and maintenance of the research infrastructure of the pilot plant facility incl. maintenance, problem identification and solution

Your qualifications
 Completed training in biotechnology, chemical process engineering or comparable technical training with relevant professional experience
 Extensive knowledge in the preparation and execution of bioprocesses incl. sterile technology
 Knowledge in the operation of laboratory and pilot plant bioreactors is desirable
 Very good knowledge of spreadsheets and other tools such as instrument software
 Good written and spoken English
 Structured and independent way of working, commitment and good team work skills

This full-time position (40 hours per week) is limited until 31.12.2024 according to the end of the project. The salary is based on your qualification and professional experience according to TV-L up to salary group 9a.
