Fundamental research at the Institute of Biomaterial Science (former Centre for Biomaterial Development) in Teltow is focused on the development of multifunctional, polymer-based materials for applications in Regenerative Medicine. Multifunctional biomaterial systems allow tailoring of material properties and functions (e.g. shape- memory effect or the capability of controlled drug release) to the requirements of a specific application.
